Our corporate vision is to delight the customer in their Craft Beer, Craft Cocktail & Gastro Pub “Experience” while visiting with us; submerge them in our unique experience. Our mission is to provide our market with an exceptional, Community Experience, while sharing Great Craft Beer, Great Food & Great Times. We own & occupy the oldest commercial building in Historic Downtown Melbourne, Florida. Our name originates over 150 years ago, from a lake, called Lake Hell ‘n Blazes that can still be found about six miles west of our downtown. The name of the lake originated from the fisherman and loggers in the area who found the lake extremely difficult to navigate given its “floating islands”. They claimed navigating the lake was like “hell ‘n blazes” and the name stuck. Our building dates to 1898. It was originally a hardware store and bank, the first bank north of Miami and south of Jacksonville. It failed during the depression, as most small community banks did, but the original, operable bank vault remains onsite today.
Hell ‘n Blazes Brewing Company continues to be recognized among the best in the state and the nation for its brewing excellence. In 2024, we earned two gold medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship for “Wonka’s Dream” and “Turning Violet.” In 2025, we were named Best Medium Brewery in Florida at the Best Florida Beer Competition, taking home two golds, two silvers, and a bronze. Previously, our Huggins Hefeweizen was named Best Beer in Florida—crafted true to style and named in tribute to our building’s past as Huggins Hardware. Alongside our award-winning Northern Flow Lager, these beers reflect Brewmaster Todd Furbeck’s dedication to tradition, quality, and innovation. With each new creation and every guest we serve, we continue our mission to create community through great craft beer, great food, and great times.
