If you want to experience the awesome power of NASA’s newest super-rocket, there’s only one place: Florida’s Space Coast.
From launch viewing locations, space-related activities, and fun places to stay, here’s how you can make the most out of your Artemis launch getaway.
Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge may have special hours or closing during the lead up to and during the Artemis II launch. Please refer to their websites for the most up to date information:
Whether you’re watching from your hotel balcony, one of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s exclusive viewing areas, or one of our world-class beaches, you’ll never forget your first launch.
Check out this map of our favorite spots to watch a rocket launch on the Space Coast. Please keep in mind that some viewing locations on this map may be closed to the public for this historic launch, and many parking spaces at these viewing locations will fill up early. Plan on arriving a few hours prior to the launch attempt time, and double-check the locations’ accessibility before your arrival.
Parking on the sides of highways and on causeways is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited.
Traffic plans will likely be released by local law enforcement closer to the launch date, and will be uploaded here as soon as possible. Please make sure to pack snacks, water, necessary medications, and your patience when travelling to the Space Coast for the launch of Artemis II.
Heading to the beach is a great way to enjoy the outdoors during the launch; however, parking spots on popular beach access points in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach fill up quickly. Plan to be here early to secure your spot in the lot and on the sand.
Beachfront hotels and rentals are an ideal viewing area for any launch. Ensure you will have a front-row seat by booking as early as possible. We have a ton of short-term rental options for people who like to plan ahead.

Immediately following liftoff, all lanes of the A. Max Brewer Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for approximately one hour to allow pedestrians to cross safely. Depending on conditions, the bridge may also close to motor vehicle traffic prior to launch, and residents and visitors are encouraged to monitor real-time updates on the City of Titusville and Titusville Police Department’s social media channels for the latest information.
ALWAYS watch for and yield to pedestrians/bicyclists crossing. There will be heavy foot traffic, especially along US 1/A1A.
▪️ Obey ALL traffic laws. Do not run red lights, speed, or drive distracted.
▪️ Once the launch is completed, traffic will be funneled from East on SR 528 to A1A South and then to SR 520.
