Brevard County Historical Commission

The Brevard County Historical Commission was established to collect, arrange, record, and preserve historical materials as well as perform other functions such as obtaining narratives of the early pioneers, marking historical locations throughout the county, and recording historical information. The Historical Commission sponsors several projects and collections that preserve the documented history of Brevard County as related through newspaper, maps, and other historic memorabilia. Already preserved on microfilm are several of the county’s earliest newspapers and maps. Microfilm copies of these publications can be found at the Brevard County Reference Library, located at 308 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa. The library also has reader-printer machines on which you can view and reproduce articles of interest dating back to 1880.
