Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary

Part of the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program, the Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary protects a variety of habitats including scrub, pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, many more. This 1500-acre sanctuary is also home to wildlife like white-tailed deer, bobwhite quail, bobcats, wading birds, and gopher tortoises. This site is accessible by foot or non-motorized mountain bikes from Rose Marie Street, International Avenue, and U.S. Highway 1 just north of Flounder Creek Road.
