Cape Canaveral Lighthouse
IN THE SHADOW OF OUR HISTORIC LIGHTHOUSE, MODERN SPACE FLIGHT WAS LAUNCHED
Our amazing 151 foot tall lighthouse is still actively protecting our mariners and coast after 155 years. Over the years, it has evolved from oil lamp, to automation, to electricity and still continues to serve. Since it sits on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) property, the public is not allowed to drive on site without an escort, therefore all visits must be booked via our website, several days in advance.
We offer free group tours for adult and children’s groups of 10 or more, and free educational tours for all school aged students, we also offer paid Guided Tours for less than 10. All tours take two to four hours, depending on the tour you select and we offer them several days per week. The Cape Canaveral Lighthouse is one of the most sought after visits for lighthouse enthusiasts.
In addition to the thrill of your visit, you get to climb the lighthouse to the 5th level, visit the museum and gift shop, and see the historical buildings and grounds of the past keepers. Next door to the lighthouse is Hangar C, the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum Annex, where you’ll see restored launch systems and rockets on display, some of which can only be seen here. Lastly, you’ll get to tour the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum! A must for all space, military and rocket enthusiasts!
The US Space Force will only authorize visits for US Citizens, US Permanent Residents and US Work Visa holders, and you must be at least 42 inches tall to climb the lighthouse (children may NOT be carried). Personnel with existing clearance for Cape Canaveral Space Force Station can visit the lighthouse on Wednesdays between 10am and 1pm during their open house hours. All other visitors must go through an authorized lighthouse group or guided tour.
