The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse- Cocoa Village

Cocoa Village Playhouse Interior

Broadway comes to life in the heart of Historic Cocoa Village. And what a history this playhouse has. In August 1924, the Aladdin Theater opened its doors to the public, showing silent movies. It evolved with the times as Brevard County’s first “talkie” movie house, known as “the showplace of the Indian River Section.” Eventually, the Aladdin Theater was purchased by City of Cocoa and renamed The Cocoa Village Playhouse. In 1991, Playhouse was accepted onto the National Register of Historic Places. Known best for their Broadway on Brevard series, other programming includes the showing of classic movies in the Aladdin Film Series, and short-run productions called the Spotlight Series.
