Titusville is only 15 minutes from where America’s space program began. The Space Coast of Florida is where astronauts sat atop a fiery explosion that hurled them 238,000 miles to the moon and then back. And it is where rockets still roar into orbit. That’s why they call this the Space Coast. Being on the Titusville Space Coast definitely has it’s perks. Besides the great weather and even better food, we also happen to be neighbors with one of the biggest space hubs in the country. Being so close to where the space program began means Titusville is home to astronaut hangouts, brilliant minds, and the beginning of space travel history. With Kennedy Space Center practically just down the road, every launch displayed for the center is visible to Titusville. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is one of the best ways to educate your children (and yourself!) and have fun at the same time! Try to take in the size of a real space shuttle when you get the chance to see one up close and personal! If that’s still not close enough to space for you, set up a date with someone that’s been there before. You can even schedule a lunch with an astronaut at the space center! If you’re planning on viewing a rocket launch in Space View Park, stop in to take a tour in the U.S. Space Walk of Fame right next door! This museum was designed to preserve the history of the space program that started just miles away. Take a tour and appreciate all of the space relics that have survived very long journeys. Visitors are also able to witness rocket launches from the Canaveral Air Force Station. There are multiple prime locations to catch a glimpse of this explosion of science, and most of them allow you to relax with your toes in the sand.
