Port Canaveral Makes Way for Bigger and Better Cruise Ships This November

The world’s second largest cruise port is having their biggest month in history this November. Port Canaveral is welcoming two ships – the Norwegian Epic and Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. The two ships will be the biggest at the port alongside other respectable ships by Carnival and Disney Cruise Lines.

At 155,873 tons, Norwegian’s Epic is the largest in its fleet and will more than double the capacity of its predecessor. With a new, modern style and unique rooms for every kind of passenger, the Epic is sure to redefine what it means to sail from Port Canaveral. Travelers can slip and slide on the top deck waterpark, relax and recharge at the spa, indulge in delicious cuisine at one of 20 dining options, enjoy family activities like bowling and karaoke, and so much more. Additionally, the entertainment team is proud to announce their debut of a Broadway show production this fall of “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.”

Cruisers can choose from 3, 4, or 7-night trips to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and the Bahamas. Eastern stops include Tortola, British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, and more. The western destinations range from Cozumel to Grand Cayman and many in between. Norwegian even brings passengers to their own private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Stay tuned for shorter trips in early 2017 that will include Nassau, Bahamas.

Even larger than the Norwegian Epic is Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. With a double-occupancy capacity of 6,360 and a crew of 2,394, Oasis is one of the largest ships in the world. They pride themselves on being “a destination for bold explorers,” with exciting features like the pool and Sports Zone, an old-school carousel right on the boardwalk, zip lining and entertainment all day and night. Oasis is expected to cruise year-round from Port Canaveral until at least the end of April 2018, alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean schedules.
