Family Beach Day

Family Beach Day

Florida's Space Coast Best Beach for... a day with the family!

There’s no better way to spend quality time with the family than by heading out to the beach for a day. On the warm sands of Florida’s Space Coast, you can enjoy a variety of fun activities or you can relax and do nothing at all – something you can’t experience at the Orlando theme parks.

At the beach, you and your family can enjoy life’s simplicities, have some fun in the sun and make lasting memories. But the only question is: of all the beautiful beaches on Florida’s Space Coast, which one is the best choice for you and your family?

Well, that’s where we come in. They’re all tough to compare, but we picked three of the best beaches on Florida’s Space Coast for you and the entire family.

Second Runner Up: Alan Shepard Park

Located in Cocoa Beach, Alan Shepard Park is a beautiful oceanfront park and a perfect destination for a family beach day. The fact that it was placed as second runner up just shows how great the options are on Florida’s Space Coast. Here you can pack lunches to eat in their picnic pavilions, bring burgers or hot dogs to grill, and you won’t need to worry about the kids tracking sand into the car after your trip since park is complete with shower and restroom facilities. To top it off, you and the kids can even witness a rocket launch right from the beach. So, load up the sunscreen and get ready to swim, splash, fish or build sand castles at this picturesque Florida beach. Parking fees apply to access this park.

First Runner Up: Pelican Beach Park

Pelican Beach Park is 74 acres of picturesque beach and fun recreation along A1A in Satellite Beach. The kids will love it for its awesome playground, teens will love it for the surf and volleyball courts, and parents will love it for amazing amenities such as fresh water showers, clean restrooms and spacious picnic pavilions. Also, since a lifeguard is on duty during the summer months, parents can rest at ease as kids splash and play in the water.

Winner: Jetty Park

Although there are plenty of beautiful and fun beaches along Florida’s Space Coast, Jetty Park at Port Canaveral is the clear winner for a family beach day. With lifeguards, beach rentals and outdoor showers you’ll have everything at your disposal to have a fun and relaxing beach day with your family. Worried about the kids getting bored? Not to worry, Jetty Park has a huge playground for kids to run and play with a picnic area for eating right nearby. And to top it all off, the kids will have a blast swimming and playing along the shore while they watch massive cruise ships sailing by heading out from port. Keep in mind that it does cost $15 per vehicle, per day to access this park.
