Day Dates to Take on Florida’s Space Coast

Get out of the norm and enjoy a day date

Planning a date can come with a lot of pressure if you want to do something that isn’t the “same old, same old,” and it just doesn’t have to be that hard. No need to spend days searching the internet for ideas especially when you can spend time here on the Space Coast. Whether you have come here for a vacation getaway or call yourself a local, this area has some of the best spots for day dates with your special someone. Instead of racking your brain trying to come up with something fun to do, choose from one these options and enjoy a beautiful day together.

Take a Stroll

The Space Coast is home to many beautiful sights, and with nature trails around almost every corner, it’s easy to find a spot to take a stroll around with your significant other. One of those spots is the FIT Botanical Gardens. Although this garden is located on the campus of Florida Tech University, you will feel like you have been transported to another world when you take a self-guided tour and let the natural beauty of Florida’s Space Coast create the perfect environment for a nice romantic walk to remember. If you happen to be in the Cocoa Beach or Titusville area and are looking for a bit more of an adventurous stroll, check out the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. With several trails to choose from, this is a great way to spend a day out in nature with your special someone.

Wine and Dine Baby

If you’re looking for a quaint place that offers options for a nice meal paired with your drink of choice as well as shopping and other scenic areas, then checking out one the few downtown districts on the Space Coast is just your place. Cocoa Village offers a world tour for food choices in an area with a rich history dating back over 150 years. Downtown Melbourne is your place for creativity and flare. Enjoy the wall murals as you find your spot for a nice lunch date at places like Matt’s Casbah or Backwater, followed by some time in the unique stores to round out your day. Downtown Titusville is for those of you who prefer to have your choice of good beer, good coffee, and good food and walking distance to Space View Park where, if you time it right, you could see one of the rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center. Lastly, Downtown Cocoa Beach is perfect for those looking for a laid-back environment where the beachy, surf-culture vibe reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s coupled with a modern twist is your backdrop for a lunch date.

Beach It Up

What’s better than soaking up the sun than doing that with the one you love? The Space Coast boasts 72 miles of pristine coastline for you to enjoy so no matter if you are staying in the north, central, or south part of the area, finding a beach to enjoy for the day doesn’t take much planning. And if you prefer to be a bit more active while enjoying the view, consider renting a couple of bikes or a tandem one from A1A Beach Rentals and enjoy a romantic ride, a perfect way to soak up the last bit of daytime.

Float Away

The Space Coast not only has direct access to the Atlantic Ocean, but there are also plenty of lakes, rivers, and other waterways that bring you up close to wildlife and other natural landscapes, not to mention prime fishing. When thinking about day date ideas, kayaking may just be the outdoor experience you’re looking for, whether you want a leisurely tour or to catch the fish of the day for dinner later.
