4 Ways to Do Autumn in Cocoa Beach

Stop and smell the spice with an autumn trip to Cocoa Beach

When the seasons quickly shift from summer to fall, but you’re not quite ready to go along with it, looking for ways to fall into the new season is easy when you think about getting away this time of the year. One of the great things about autumn is that even in the midst of holidays looming around the corner, the pace of life seems to move a bit more slowly. And by slowly, it just means that the smells of baked apple pie, pumpkin spice, and cinnamon fills the air so instead of stopping to smell the roses, you stopped to smell the spice. Mix that with the smell of salty sea air and a nice gentle breeze blowing on your face, you’ve got the perfect set up to enjoy autumn. Now you just have to get here to the Space Coast. Here are four ways to do autumn in Cocoa Beach.

The Beach

While the rest of the country starts to feel those cooler temps, the Space Coast is still boasting its beautiful tropical weather; perfect for enjoying a bit more time soaking up the sun while digging your toes in the sand. And should it be a bit chillier than expected, throw on a light jacket or a souvenir sweatshirt and take a stroll along the shoreline where the water is still warm from the summer. There are plenty of beaches to choose from so finding the perfect spot is as easy as clicking here.

Waterfront Dining

During the autumn months, it’s not nearly as crowded as it is in summer for obvious reasons. If you can manage to get away during this time of the year, you can easily pull up a seat, enjoy waterfront dining without a long wait, all while listening to live music as you relax and enjoy the change of season. Coconuts on the Beach gives you beachfront views while nearby at The Cove at Port Canaveral is home to several restaurants like Fishlips, Grills, and Rusty's where you can enjoy views of dolphins, wildlife, and cruise ships setting sail.

Go Where the Locals Go

Visit nearby Cocoa Village and catch the local vibe morning, afternoon, or night. Whether you are looking to paint your own masterpiece at Painting with a Twist or prefer to be entertained by local talent at the Cocoa Village Playhouse or maybe you’re up for boutique shopping and finding other little trinkets, Cocoa Village is a great place to peruse different activities for every age and preference. And with an international cuisine located at each corner, you can grab a bite to eat that brings Italian, German, Japanese, Thai, French and classic American fare within walking distance.

Come for an Event

Whether you come for the Ron Jon Cocoa Beach Half Marathon, the Cocoa Beach Art Show or the 4th Annual Downtown Melbourne Food and Wine Fest, there are so many fall events taking place this autumn that any time you come, there is bound to be something to experience and explore. Check out the Space Coast Fall Preview or look up other events taking place on the dates you plan to visit.
