With more then 15 creations to view from artists who are known around the world for their work, you’ll get to experience one-of-a-kind designs as you walk the historical streets of Olde Eau Gallie. And if your travels take you near Titusville, check out their wall murals in their downtown area as well.
4. Surfing days of old
Whether you are an avid surfer or just appreciate the sport and skill of those who ride the waves, stop by the Florida Surf Museum where you will get an inside look at the history of all things surfing and experience the heritage and traditions here in Cocoa Beach.
5. Reach for the Stars
If you want to take advantage of the rich history of space exploration, the very reason why this area is called the Space Coast, then adding the Space Walk of Fame at Space View Park is the place to go. Walk along this public park that honors America’s astronauts, the men and women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help lead the world in space exploration, and features monuments in honor of the Mercury and Gemini missions. And this is also a great place to watch a launch with live audio feeds straight from NASA.
6. Stop and Smell the Roses
Enjoy the outdoors with a self-guided tour that will give you a walk to remember as you take in the natural beauty of Florida’s Space Coast. The Botanical Garden at FIT hosts a trail that leads you along a stream bordered by a shady hammock of palm trees and other tropical plant growth all located through the heart of the Florida Institute of Technology’s campus. This is truly a unique botanical garden.
7. Hometown Hero Up Close
Get your camera ready for a photo-op in honor of Cocoa Beach’s hometown hero, Kelly Slater. Located at the entrance of Downtown Cocoa Beach, where A1A splits, is a life size sculpture by local artist Tasha Drazich of the 11-time world title champion. Work that angle because the Kelly Slater Statue is definitely “selfie-worthy.”
8. Calling all nature enthusiasts
Located down in the southern stretch of the Space Coast, the Barrier Island Sanctuary is a 34-acre sanctuary perfect for nature enthusiasts to explore the diverse natural habitats through interactive exhibits and the walking trails. End the day with a beautiful sunset as you breath in the salty sea air and exhale. Now that is how you enjoy a day!
9. Wine & Dine
Green Turtle Market offers a gourmet-to-go style deli and market with a café open from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Couple your gourmet dining experience with a free wine tasting happening every Friday and Saturday. And while you’re there, peruse their market for unique finds or grab a bottle of your favorite wine to take home with you.
10. The ultimate Frisbee experience
Disc Golf, a sport created in the 1970’s, has started to become increasingly more popular over the last several years with courses popping up all over. Test your skills with a game that combines the laid back style of Frisbee tossing with the precision of a golf putt. Need a visual? Watch here.
11. It's a picnic at the park kind of day
Located in the heart of Cocoa Village, Riverfront Park is an open space where you can find kids and adults alike running through the fountains, throwing Frisbees, swinging and sliding at the playground, enjoying live music or craft fairs. This is a place where you can easily bring a picnic basket and enjoy the outdoors, soak up the sun, and not worry about tracking sand all in the car.
