Plan Your Great Florida Air Show Weekend

The Great Florida Air Show is just around the corner, have you planned out your weekend yet?

The Great Florida Air Show presented by Northrup Grumman is scheduled for Saturday, May 15th and Sunday, May 16th, 2021 at the Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB). Gates open at 8:00am, and you'll want to get there before 9 am to find the best FREE parking spot, relax, and enjoy your day at the air show. See the U.S. Navy Blue Angels celebrate their 75th Anniversary as they take off in their brand new aircraft, the F-18 Super Hornet, along with an amazing lineup of military jets and outstanding performers. But, that's not all. This year's Great Florida Air Show  is under new management and being produced by The Air Show Network, so while you'll have an amazing time watching the show above, there will also be immersive, interactive exhibits and static displays set up on the ground to amplify your air show experience. This event is being sold at a limited capacity, so don’t miss your chance to see one of the greatest shows on the Space Coast!

The Great Florida Air Show will span 2 fun-filled days of aerial acrobatics and incredible ground displays in one of our favorite towns but what do you do after the engines have cooled and the skies have gone silent? Here are some ideas we think you’ll love!

Stop by the Valiant Warbird Museum

Navy Plane at the Warbird Musuem

Drive time from the Great Florida Air Show - 46 min
The Great Florida Air Show is going to be an amazing opportunity to show your kids something amazing. After they've experienced the air show and immersive ground displays you can keep that momentum going by heading north to the Valiant Warbird Museum in Titusville. This museum, located 45 minutes north of the Melbourne Orlando International Airport, displays more than 50 warbirds from Post-WWI to modern-day aircraft. Including the infamous WW2 Warbird that made an emergency landing earlier this spring in Cocoa Beach. It’s an amazing supplement to the Great Florida Air Show for kids and aviation enthusiasts of all ages.

Why Stop at the Sky?

Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center

Drive time from Great Florida Air Show - 55 min
Everything is possible on the Space Coast. When we fly, we ask why not launch too! Stop by the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to take your love of flight to the stratosphere and beyond as you learn about the Space Program’s past, present and future. Bus tours to the Apollo/Saturn V have resumed and Planet Play is open to the public! If you visited the Complex in 2020, this is the perfect time to cash in on your free return ticket!

Test Your Limits at Treetop Trek

Treetop Trek at the Brevard Zoo

Drive time from Great Florida Air Show - 25 Minutes
The Brevard Zoo is a mere 25 drive from the Melbourne Orlando International Airport and a must-see any time you’re in Melbourne on the Space Coast. This zoo is one of the best in the country and alongside it’s well-taken-care-of family of animals they also offer add-on adventures you won’t find anywhere else. Traverse the canopy of the Rainforest Revealed Exhibit when you embark on TreetopTrek.  This self-guided ropes course is perfect for active families with school-aged children. You’ll be nose to nose with spider monkeys and end your challenge by zip lining over the American Alligators of Wild Florida. It’s an experience you won’t forget on your Great Florida Air Show Weekend.
