Melbourne Beaches

Melbourne Beaches

Want to take a stroll along a secluded beach? The beaches along the barrier island of South Brevard may be just the ticket. These beaches and semi-tropical weather are perfect for surfing, surf fishing, sun worshiping, riding fat-tired beach, or just a place for your family to enjoy the sand and serenity with plenty of elbow room. Other recreational opportunities nearby include golf, boating, swimming, camping and more.

Collectively, Melbourne Beaches include the beachside towns of Melbourne Beach, Indialantic, Indian Harbour Beach and Satellite Beach.

Escape the crowds for a more refined beach experience.

Melbourne Beaches present the finer side of beach life on the Space Coast. Take in the links where ocean & lagoon breezes meet at Spessard Holland Golf Course. Designed by Palmer Enterprises, this popular beachside, executive 18-hole course offers an oasis of golfing pleasure.

Tennis anyone? Grab a court followed by dinner and drinks at the Kiwi Tennis Club. Public courts are also available.

Distinguished lodging options.

Melbourne Beaches has many of the highest rated hotels in the Space Coast with some of the best views available.  Most have direct beach access and luxury amenities. A number of fine bed and breakfast inns offer unique alternatives to hotel stays.

Beach parks of all shapes and sizes.

Melbourne Beaches has exceptional beachfront parks. Four of the most popular are:

Sebastian Inlet State Park is located on the very south end of the Space Coast where the surfing is sensational and the waters are emerald and clear. The park has three miles of beaches for swimming, surfing, scuba diving, boating, fishing and other water sports. Campers will find 50 full-facility campsites with areas for primitive-style camping. More are available on the Indian River side of the barrier island at Long Point Park. Just over the inlet bridge is the McLarty Treasure Museum and the Sebastian Fishing Museum.

Coconut Point is a 37-acre beach park that is also a popular nesting site for sea turtles and is listed on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Like many of the county’s beachside parks, Coconut Point features parking, outdoor showers, restrooms and picnic areas.

Juan Ponce de León Landing is a beachside park where an impressive statue commemorates the 1513 voyage of the famous Spanish explorer and his landing near Melbourne. The 25-acre beach park has public parking, restrooms and two dune crossovers.

James Nance Park is located near the intersection of the Melbourne Causeway and SR A1A in Indialantic’s trendy Fifth Avenue area. This park connects with the Indialantic boardwalk and is adjacent to shops, pubs, and restaurants.

There are many other notable parks to “beach it” along the Melbourne Beaches. Each has its own special charm and features. It’s just a matter of your family picking one and putting your towel down.
