Virtuoso horn player, Juan Berrios joins the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra to present a moving work by the composer, Joshua Hobbs. Many Hearts One Pulse is an elegy for those lost in the Pulse tragedy. The title refers to the huge, spontaneous upwelling of love, support and solidarity for the victims and their families, especially from the Orlando community, but also from across the nation.
The second half of the program features Johan de Meij's epic 1st Symphony, Lord of the Rings. Long before Howard Shore got his hands on writing the score for Peter’s Jackson’s monumental Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, Dutch composer Johan de Meij had taken up the call. In one fell swoop, this incredible work made de Meij’s name world renowned as a top composer for wind orchestra, a rank he retains to this day with his later symphonies and other works. Also on this riveting program is Frank Ticheli's Angels in the Architecture and Joshua Hobbs' Into the Blue.
