The races start off at sunrise in a field where participants will charge into foreign lands and finish through the castle where family and friends can cheer! Excalibur 10 Miler & Relay: 7:30 am start
Dragon Slayer 2 Miler: 7:45 am start

All horses and carriages may be tied at the Viera High School back parking lot or Brevard School Board parking lot.
Although temperatures have averaged 40’s for the low and 70’s for the high, be prepared for cool as well as warm weather. Florida weather is somewhat unpredictable in the winter months of the year.
Chronotrack timing will be used for scoring. Both the official time and “net” time will be calculated. The course for the 10-miler is a USATF certified course. The course officially closes at 10:30 am on Sunday morning (3-hour time limit – 18+ minute per mile pace)
At Viera Regional Park, (check Race Village Area Map) gear check is available until 7:15 am. Gear check will remain open until 10:30 am.
A corral system at the start is aligned according to expected finishing time. Please make sure to fill in the expected finishing time on the registration form or when registering online. (If you are unsure of your expected finishing time, please estimate your expected finishing time based on your average pace per mile).
The start of Excalibur 10 Miler and Relay is promptly at 7:30 a.m. It will be near the football field of the high school stadium. Line up according to the color of allegiance (Maroon/Blue). Dragon Slayer 2 Miler will begin at 7:45 am.
If anyone is in need of medical assistance, please notify any volunteer and they will help you in obtaining medical assistance. Fluid stations will be available every two miles at four locations along the course as well as the finish line area.
Fluid stations will be available on the course as well as at the finish line. Water and Gatorade Endurance sports drink will be available at every fluid station. Find a welcoming maiden or chivalrous knight in each land which will provide good food (GU) and drink. GU gels are available at the mile 6 fluid station.
Just because our race is medieval, doesn’t mean the amenities are! Inside bathrooms available for all participants before and after! Including the locker rooms if you need a quick shower before heading onwards to your kingdom. Of course there are portalets on the race course should you need to use one as well as in the starting field before the race. (approx. 1/8 mile from the race site)
