MESSAGE FROM THE MAESTRO
“Our Season Finale on April 6, 2019, starts with a bang as we present The Representation of Chaos – the Overture to Haydn’s great oratorio The Creation. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, we are proud to present the Southeastern US Premiere of James Beckel’s From the Earth to the Moon and Beyond. The BSO has joined a handful of orchestras across the country to commission this exciting new work that celebrates one of mankind’s most incredible achievements! As the Space Coast’s Premiere Professional Orchestra, we are thrilled and honored to present this important new piece which includes images from the Hubble Telescope and a special guest narrator. Our season concludes with the spectacular Symphony No. 2 by Rachmaninoff – a brilliant tour de force for the orchestra, and one of the most ultra-Romantic symphonies ever written!” ~Chris Confessore
