The Port Canaveral Port Authority recently opened the Exploration Tower. The seven-story visitor exploration center marks the beginning of a major expansion of the Cove, the Port's harbor side dining and entertainment district, which also includes plans for a concert-ready outdoor amphitheater.

The Exploration Tower is a great destination, especially if you're taking a cruise from the Space Coast or have a few hours to kill on a port of call. The Tower offers never-before ways to explore the Space Coast, from one-of-a-kind hands-on exhibits and a rooftop observation deck to a short feature film.

Dive into four floors of world-class interactive exhibits featuring past native cultures, early Spanish explorers, sea battles for independence, the development of the local citrus and fishing industries and the first expeditions into space. The center also focuses on discovering things to do on the Space Coast from surfing or taking an eco-tour on an airboat to the Kennedy Space Center.

Admission fees are $6.50 for adults and $3.75 for children ages 3-10. There are discounts for Brevard County residents, seniors and military personnel with ID. Port Canaveral's Observation Tower is open Sunday - Saturday from 9 am - 6 pm.
