I guess the cat's out of the bag. One of the Space Coast's most popular hidden gems has just been outed by USA Today. They recently named Playalinda Beach as one of the 10 Best Uncrowded Atlantic Beaches for Summer.
Located inside the Cape Canaveral National Seashore, Playalinda Beach is one of the quietest beaches you'd have the pleasure of sunning on without fighting a crowd. It's also popular with surfers and sea turtles. Canaveral National Seashore is an important nesting area for several species of threatened and endangered sea turtles. As many as 4,500 nests have been recorded each summer along the 24-miles of protected beach. Playalinda Beach is open to the public daily between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm in the winter and 6:00 am to 8:00 pm in the summer. Like Jetty Park to the south, there is a daily fee to enter the park. Other beaches on USAToday's list include: Long Beach Island, New Jersey Seabrook Island, South Carolina Block Island Beach, Rhode Island Topsail Beach, North Carolina Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Goose Rocks Beach, Maine Bethany Beach, Delaware Nauset Light Beach in Cape Cod National Sea Shore, Massachusetts Emerald Isle, North Carolina
