After a few false takeoffs, the Melbourne Air & Space Show was recently given a stamp of approval by the the Melbourne City Council. In a unanimous vote by the council, the popular event, which draws hundreds of thousands of spectators to Florida's Space Coast, will be held this coming fall.

The new show headquarters will be Howard E. Futch Memorial Park at Paradise Beach. According to Bryan Lilley, the show's coordinator, may feature more of a civilian lineup due to sequestration. But in the future, the air show may grow into a larger event like in years past.
