You Don't Have to Be Irish to Love St. Patty's Day
“May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live.”
One of the ways to live a long life is by celebrating because when you get to celebrate, the notion that you’ll miss out on something is barely a fleeting thought.
What is it that needs to be celebrated? Besides the fact that every day is a gift, what better way to enjoy the gift of life than to go green? No, no, not green with envy (unless you decide not to press your luck and take a long weekend vacation away), but Irish green.
That’s right! St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and now’s the time to start planning your getaway to celebrate good food, good times, and good beer. With street parties, live Celtic music, Irish dancing, and so much more, there is so much fun waiting to be had. March yourself down and get lucky this St. Patrick’s Day! Choose where you’d like to go, or better yet, go on a St. Patrick’s Day tour by stopping in to one or all of these locations.
812 E. New Haven Avenue, Melbourne | (321) 952-5510
Kick off your St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 16 with a celebratory parade starting at 11 a.m. and finish the day with a street party and concert featuring Pepper. Come back the next morning for a proper Irish breakfast starting at 8 a.m. All throughout the morning and afternoon leading up to the evening festivities, enjoy bagpipers, Irish dancers, traditional Irish fare and so much more. Street party starts at 6 p.m.
204 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach | (321) 783-8499
The annual street party that brings all things Irish to Cocoa Beach, Nolan’s Irish Pub is the place to be if you want to kick off your day first on the beach. Grub out to good ‘ol Irish fare and a variety of Irish beers and ciders. There’s fun for all ages. Instead of celebrating at the actual restaurant, the party is moving to The Radisson at The Port, Cape Canaveral on March 16 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant will be opened on March 16 & 17, but the main event will be March 16 at The Radisson.
And with St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Sunday, it’s best to plan for a long weekend getaway so you can ensure you get the most out of your visit. And to do that, here are a few other events taking place.
- Space Coast Warbird Air Show: For those of you who like history and enjoy seeing it come to life, you’ll want to check out the 42nd Annual Space Coast Warbird Air Show taking place March 15-17, 2019.
