DESCRIPTION

The Erna Nixon Park & Nature Center is a large public park that features a natural Florida hammock and nature preserve containing a 2,345 ft. long elevated boardwalk with 640 feet of trail that winds through three different ecosystems with signage that identifies different plant species. Although surrounded by a commercial district, Erna Nixon Park & Nature Center is home to many birds and small animals, including the protected gopher tortoise and Indigo snake.
